Google PageRank Update (July 2008)
My google toolbar shows that I’m now PR3 from previous PR4 for Mobile eBook Etc since May, 2008.
A short history of my PageRank: Started blogging at WordPress.com last September and got a PR5. Moved to my own domain last January, my PageRank obviously became PR0 because of the new domain. And eventually got my PR4 last May. And now its a PR3, sometimes its PR1. Penalized? Slapped by Google? Maybe… and I seldom concentrated on my inbound links.
A slapped by Big G obviously is a warning for paid links. I don’t have that much like others do. In fact, I can still count them on my fingers. Nevertheless, they are just there to maintain my site and I don’t like to post articles not related to mobile ebooks, ebook conversion, mobile application, mobile lifestyle, blogging and internet. Lesson learned again, this time the hard way and I don’t wanna slapped again.
On the other hand, my personal blog, glitchline still doesn’t have PR until now. I guess, I have to reconstruct that blog.
How is everyone making out in this update?

My site was built in March of this year and I just got a PR3 today. Stands to reason that you can jump up OR down fairly quickly if given the right PR equation.
I host several websites that have PR and my link is obviously at the bottom of their pages.
I also generated a good bit of new, creative content that is, in my opinion, useful information for folks looking for website design.
I think personally that for my future SEO clients I’ll spend more time working on blogs and content than worrying about inbound links from higher PR sites.
@Matt, I am with you. The key is to generate good and creative content.Sometimes I do not understand why this ToolBar PageRank issue makes shockwaves in the blogosphere. It is just a number and it does not really depict the quality of the blog. I have seen some great blogs having a small PR but they are excelling in terms of readership, comments, RSS subsribers, revenue.
Adverters need to stop rating blogs based on TBPR.They should rather be looking at parameters such RSS feeds, comments, traffic rates. etc.

Mine slapped form PR3 to PR0 after a few paid posts. I think the reason is we are earning money from the paid posts and give dofollow links to the advertisers website. This is against page rank TOS. Maybe, if you have lesser dofollow outbound links, you might increase the green page rank juce. But, need to wait for another 3 months.
