My new Entrecard Avatar?!
If you happen to be on your regular Entrecard dropping and you saw your own avatar or image and edited for someone else use, what would you think? On my blog hopping yesterday, at first glance, I thought its mine but its NOT. I’m stunned. This is the first image I uploaded to Entrecard, the image I use to some forums, my gravatar, my phone’s Opera background. Somehow, I have a deep attachment to this image, I see it everyday on my mobile and internet.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, I sent a private message to the owner of this blog through Entrecard but to no avail. If its for Entrecard purpose that my image was plagiarized, I don’t think its fair. Entrecard image serves as business card. I’m not sure if its against EC’s TOS either but it is still my image. Plagiarism is a crime!
Come to think of it. I am a 4-digit EC member, that blog is a 6-digit EC member meaning I’m a member way ahead of him. Its impossible not see me on EC category Computers and Internet that we both belong. I don’t think this is link baiting since he already have a PR3 blog and I’m still working on regaining my PR. Whatever reason he has, I’m not happy that my image was stolen. I’m not flattered either.
I take this opportunity to thank my EC top droppers. As you can see, I seldom post linklove for my top droppers but today is my birthday. Guys, please check out EC community if your image was plagiarized.

This is just as bad as plagiarism, in fact it’s the same. My old blog was plagiarized for months to a point where I just had to give it up. On my new blog so far it’s okay. It is horrible, all the thieves that are online with no regard for anyone. I hope you can get this resolved.

I hope you’ll get them to take the avatar out of EC.
The famous plagiarist who copied my post is no longer on EC. How it happened, I don’t know but I’m sure several people reported her to EC. What I do know is that she is finally banned from IZEA.
It’s stressful and disturbing. Hope you’ll resolve this issue soon. It took me more than a month to get the word from the affiliate but at least, I got the result I wanted.

You should have not give it up, its yours. Mostly these thieves are blogging for money, they run out of ideas and steal. They didn’t know how it felt like being robbed of intellectual property.

I’m not sure if my case is under EC TOS. I hope. But this guy, when I checked on his EC profile, it displayed another image copied also from another EC member.
I saw another blog post, her friend. She said its up to you if you forgive her. My question is… did she ask for your forgiveness to be forgiven?

Thanks, it didn’t spoil my day but I’m not happy with it. As I’ve said, I’m not sure if its against EC TOS, they might be busy on cashing out. LOL

There are thousands of images in Entrecard. Right now, I’m the 2nd victim of this blog for stealing “business card”. I don’t know if there are still others.
I have seen a few cards with that somewhat invisible banner through it. I am going to start making a copy of them as I run across them and alert each original card holder. I was wandering what the heck was going on.
It is very unfortunate that entrecard would do that. They keep turning a lot of very loyal bloggers away through their underhanded actions.

that’s funny, I saw that too. how can you forgive a proud, un-apologetic criminal? Even Leomar, (her other victim) he who exposed her, and she never bothered to say a word to him.
how about the admission? Did you see it? That’s why my cousins told me that she’s easy to nail. She has admitted to her crime on one of the blogs and I have proof of it.
You need to notify the admin at Entrecard. I do believe this is against TOS and the thief could be removed for having done this.

It’s so bad that people have to resort to stealing now to get hits. I think the person switched images because you didn’t link to them. Bad behaviour on the internet usually results in links + thousands of hits which = a higher Page Rank.

Gee! That is terrible and to think that you belong in one group!? That person really likes to be caught! I think I would agree to Jaime but also please contact the EC admin so they can ban the person. I think they have records to show who placed the image first. You have the right!

Any updates yet from the EC management on this? This really sucks. If it was just a honest mistake, then they should have inform you about it and ask for forgiveness. A simple courtesy will do.

Yuck! That’s awful. They didn’t even do it nicely, looks like they covered up your text and added in their own in MSPaint! Looks horrible, and covers up your image. Sadly, image theft is rampant on the internet. People think they can take any photo or picture as their own, just because it’s online.
