Wanted: Entrecard Widget
I’ve posted a couple of entrecard articles on this blog. I guess, its not enough. Since entrecard is new in the blogosphere, many had stopped using it to avoid high bounce rate. What’s keeping entecard administration busy nowadays? I remember sending them a feedback about sites who doesn’t display entrecard widget and recieved no response.
Benefit of the doubt? Yup, we can place entrecard widget in seconds on our site. What took “these” sites too long to place their widget codes? And yet, they bought adverts on sites to advertise. hmmn… Entrecard admin is too busy developing the system, I’ve read from their blog that there are already 7,000 entrecard members. After reaching the 7,000… members will still continue to grow. I guess its about time that they devote time to weed out “abussive sites”.
Be vigilant on accepting adverts, make sure that the site also display their widget. Its really annoying finding these sites on my chain dropping. Don’t you find it unfair? Sometimes, some of them are my direct dropper. The images displayed will continue to gro as I find more sites like them.
I’ve been reporting sites who doesn’t display their entrecard widget, sadly there’s no action from the entrecard admin. As part of my campaign, I’ll be displaying images that should be avoided to accept adverts. I have their links but failed to recover some of the images. For starter, avoid adverts from these sites as they didn’t place entrecard widget. If they had their widget already, I will remove them from the list.
I like to take this opportunity to thank Chalk Is Cheap, my highest dropper for the month of March. Also, I received the highest drop to the advert I place at Karlonia, also for the month of March.

I do like you do, reporting sites that don´t show their widget, although I do believe EntreCard says that if you want to stop your account with them, you should just take the widget off and your site will be removed within a few days. No idea if that is true…

I don’t think that its true. I’ve never removed my widget here but sometimes, I did received a flash note at my ec dashboard saying that I dont have ec widget on my site.
Also, when I mistakenly apply my wordpress.com blog and send them a note to remove my site, they removed it within that hour.
Through chain dropping, there’s no way we can tell if the next site displays ec widget or not.
Hopefully since EC is new, they will eventually get their stuff together. I still think the EC concept has potential once they figure out all the glitches.

Make sure you let the site know that you can’t see the site. For a while there, I didn’t realize that my widget wasn’t showing up in IE.

DineometerDeb, Entrecard has potential and did wonders on my alexa.
Lisa, I often informed the sites if possible. I also encountered sites with widget that didn’t appear using IE, I’m using firefox now.
Thanks for the comments.
I also find it annoying when sites aren’t displaying Entrecard and yet advertise on other sites – then there are the sites that have had Entrecard and remove the widget yet still advertise on others. I think many sites also don’t realise that if they have enormous amounts of flash, especially towards the top of their homepage they do not load on some peoples browsers – these also cause drops in a chain.

Kloggers, thanks for airing your side. At least, I know that I’m not the only one annoyed with these kinds of sites.
Andre, you are always welcome.
I also find it annoying when people don’t put the widget on their site. It is also short sited on their part, because while they are receiving visits they are not receiving drops. Mind you, I also find it annoying when people put the widget at the very bottom of their page too, but I guess that is not such a crime.
While I am on a rant, I am also annoyed by the increase in music players on blogs. The curse of MySpace has extended into the blogosphere. But worst of all are the audio and video ads that are beginning to appear on blogs too.
I wonder if there is an add-on for Firefox where you can maintain a black-list of sites? So that whenever I inadverently click on a link to them I am reminded that they are blacklisted.

Music on sites, lots of flash,no EC widget. These all bother me too. If I have to spend too much time looking for EC I will sometimes drop a line telling them. Music, flashy sites, remember not everyone has broadband or WIFI. I am still on dial up and it takes forever to drop. These sites do not help.

I reported the “Retire by 21″ site for not having a widget, but I didn’t get a response. That was last week, and today I saw that site on a widget again.
