Inheritance Trilogy… Series?

Have you read the first two books of Inheritance Trilogy, Eragon and Eldest? Its not a trilogy anymore, the author Chistopher Paolini decided to expand it and include a fourth full-length novel.

Christopher Paolini will write an additional, fourth novel about his hero Eragon, it was announced last October 30, 2007 by Nancy Hinkel, Publishing Director of Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books. Originally planned as a trilogy, Inheritance will now include four complete novels written by Paolini and be named the Inheritance cycle. Knopf also announced that it will publish Book Three, as yet untitled, in a national laydown in the United States and Canada on September 23, 2008.

I thought all along that I’m waiting for the final book, that the excitement after reading the first two books will come to its end eventually. Duh! Now, I have to wait for the third and fourth book.

“I plotted out the Inheritance series as a trilogy nine years ago, when I was fifteen. At that time, I never imagined I’d write all three books, much less that they would be published” said Paolini. “When I finally delved into Book Three, it soon became obvious that the remainder of the story was far too big to fit in one volume. Having spent so long thinking about the series as a trilogy, it was difficult for me to realize that, in order to be true to my characters and to address all of the plot points and unanswered questions Eragon and Eldest raised, I needed to split the end of the series into two books.” – Christopher Paolini

I’ve read that movie!

Weekend is always the best time for a movie.  What if the movie you want to see is no longer in the moviehouse, what are you going to do?  Since you are in a mall, have you tried buying for a DVD or VCD instead and watch at the comfort of your room?  I always want to watch great movies in a wide screen and always had in this situation.

There’s a lot of VCD/DVD available whatever genre that suits you.  I always had this reminder on my mind, don’t pick a movie that is not based on books (or comics).  Because there’s a 50-50 chance that I’ll end up wasting my money and time of buying the DVD.

Great movies comes from great books, that’s my rule of thumb.  There’s a lot of movie based books that I’ve read first before watching the movie or the other way around.   And always a big chance of loving the book version than the movie.  I could say that for the sake of cinematography, the story always suffer.  I’ve seen “Silence Of The Lambs” for many times until I’ve read the eBook, the ending is different from one another.  Another example is “Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire”, the movie lacks cinematography and didn’t emphasized the details that could be important to the future movie series.

Anyway, if you’re thinking of looking around for a book based movies, here are some links that I came across that might help you.

This is my favorite detective series by James Patterson, basically its about woman power.   The lead character is Lt. Lindsay Boxer, a homicide detective developed a strong friendship with an assistant district attorney, a journalist and a medical examiner.  Even though they’re busy on their fields, they always made it a point to see each other on their Saturday Club. Friendship that started from comparing notes to help one another to solve a case…

The Women’s Murder Club Series:

  1. 1st To Die
  2. 2nd Chance
  3. 3rd Degree
  4. 4th Of July
  5. 5th Horseman
  6. 6th Target
  7. 7th Heaven (to be released on 2008)

I was just looking for an update for the latest book of this series and came to see that the TV series will have its premier on October 12, 2007.  I got excited watching the sneak preview until I’ve found out that its not available here in the Philippines.  So I guess I’ll visit youtube frequently and hoping to watch the premier episode. I don’t have any idea of the actresses who portrayed the roles, I just hope that they portrayed them accordingly.

UPDATE: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.
