Brisingr Breaks Record For 550,000 Sold On 1st Day
The third book on Inheritance Cycle, Brisingr make a record in Random House Children’s Books history for sold 550,000 hardcover copies. Random House Children’s Books is the world’s largest English-language children’s trade book publisher.
Brisingr was published by Random House’s Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers imprint in the U.S. and Canada on September 20th with a first printing of 2.5 million copies, the largest first-print run in the publisher’s history.
The first day’s sales for Brisingr are four times that of Eldest, the second novel in Paolini’s Inheritance cycle, which was published in August 2005.
Brisingr was also released simultaneously in the U.S. and Canada as an audiobook by Random House’s Listening Library audio division. Initial reports indicate that sales for the audiobook as well as the BRISINGR ebook are also strong.
Paolini will write a fourth book to conclude the Inheritance cycle. For the meantime, I’ll be busy now reading my freshly converted Brisingr mobile eBook in repligo format. If possible, I’ll keep you posted about the adventures of Eragon and Saphira. Enjoy reading.
