Mobile eBooks explained…

What’s an eBook? eBook is short for electronic book that we can read on computer, laptops, notebooks, ppc, pda, ipod, smartphones, mobile phones etc. Its like books on your devices. The idea of saving a lot of money is the main reason that would make you hooked on eBooks. Provided that you’ve bought the book online, it is still cheaper compared to paperbacks. The hassle of going to your favorite bookstore is one more thing. Having it handy on my mobile phone is really great.

There’s a few disadvantages though, eye strain… it depends on the mobile application you’re using. Few people told me that they’re still conventional on reading, they still prefer to have it printed! The cost of printing it, they didn’t realized that they’ve made their hobby expensive. Another disadvantage is memory card corruption. eBooks usually are big files, depends on the format but a standard novel usually have an average of 500kb to almost 2mb file size. Big chunk of files deleted on your memory card technically leaves unwanted spaces. I’ll discuss it to my future entries. One more thing, since mobile ebooks are handy, the files can be easily lost for various reasons.

There’s a lot of eBook viewers that I’ll be discussing and comparing from one another as well as the eBook formats to my future entries. I’ll be posting some of my eBook collection, some I’ve converted from the past and some are downloaded from other sites. These are for evaluation purposes only.
