Google PageRank Update Again (September 2008)

There is ongoing PageRank update again, too soon because we just had PR update two months ago. I noticed it on my Google toolbar showing this site a PR2 now. Anyway, the PR will be stable in a few days. I don’t know if migrating my blog from GoDaddy to Bluehost contributed to this.

Which reminds me, last month I removed a certain unnecessary category. As you can see, I’m using the custom permalink /%category%/%postname%/ so I maybe lose some backlinks for doing that even if I’m using a redirect plugin.

Hoping for a better outcome soon. How is everyone making out in this update? I wish its a false alarm, happy blogniversary to my blog.

Brisingr Breaks Record For 550,000 Sold On 1st Day

brisingrThe third book on Inheritance Cycle, Brisingr make a record in Random House Children’s Books history for sold 550,000 hardcover copies. Random House Children’s Books is the world’s largest English-language children’s trade book publisher.

Brisingr was published by Random House’s Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers imprint in the U.S. and Canada on September 20th with a first printing of 2.5 million copies, the largest first-print run in the publisher’s history.

The first day’s sales for Brisingr are four times that of Eldest, the second novel in Paolini’s Inheritance cycle, which was published in August 2005.

Brisingr was also released simultaneously in the U.S. and Canada as an audiobook by Random House’s Listening Library audio division. Initial reports indicate that sales for the audiobook as well as the BRISINGR ebook are also strong.

Paolini will write a fourth book to conclude the Inheritance cycle. For the meantime, I’ll be busy now reading my freshly converted Brisingr mobile eBook in repligo format. If possible, I’ll keep you posted about the adventures of Eragon and Saphira. Enjoy reading. :D

Google, T-Mobile G1: World's First Android Phone

It was announced the released of world’s first Android Operating System in the mobile market, a partnership of Google and T-Mobile on October 22, 2008 initially for T-Mobile subscribers in United States only. No word if it will be available for prepaid subscribers and release in Asia (especially in the Philippines).

G1 Google Phone

Google G1 Features:

  • One touch Google search
  • Touch screen
  • Customizable home screen
  • Run by Android OS (Operating System) – Android is the mobile operating system on the T-Mobile G1. It allows developers from around the world to create new and exciting applications that can easily be loaded onto the phone from the Android Market.
  • Full QWERTY keyboard – slide open the screen to use the keyboard
  • 3 megapixel camera
  • comes with 1GB memory card
  • Google pre-installed application:
    • Google Search
    • Google Maps
    • Gmail
    • Google Calendar
    • Google Talk
  • YouTube
  • 3G, EDGE and Wi-Fi connections

Google G1 costs $179 with 2-year voice and data agreement (T-mobile) is cheaper than iPhone 3G. Nobody will think that there’s no competition between Apple’s iPhone 3G and Google’s T-mobile G1. For sure, the price would be much higher in my country just like iPhone 3G. How about mobile ebook on this smartphone? I’m sure online mobile ebook reading will be a wonderful experience. :D

Multimedia Conversion Software

To advanced users of handheld devices, conversion tool is a necessity. Technically, I am not contented with the “fresh from the box” built in mobile application, I still install other mobile application so I can play a specific format on my mobile phone. Why should I bother to convert these files? Simply because I want quality audio and video files. There are many audio converter in the market but most of them supports audio files only.

The long search for powerful multimedia software is over, the Blaze Media Pro Software is all-in-one media converter, MOV converter, burner, editing and ripper software that supports all popular multimedia formats. I don’t want to buy many conversion tool when I can get what I need in software. The software is powerful enough for batch conversion.

The video encoder feature is superb for its capability to insert or extract audio files from the video. I already made some ringtones for my mobile phone after downloading their 15 day trial version software.
