As we are all waiting for the official announcement of Eldest, the movie… Brisingr, Book 3 of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini will be released on September 20, 2008. This is not the last one, there are going to be four books. It is Inheritance Cycle already, not a Inheritance Trilogy.
What to expect on Brisingr?
Eragon will meet a God.
Eragon encountered a new and rather terrifying enemy in the third book. I think I can tell you that this enemy likes to laugh and not in the good way. – Christopher Paolini
You could order the book online or to your favorite bookstore. Audiobook is available online. While waiting for the release, you could join the Vroengard Academy and have a chance to win Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger books autographed by Christopher Paolini, Vroengard Shirts and mugs, Eragon DVDs and video games every week. Grand prize is trip to Bozeman, Montana to meet Christopher Paolini in person. For US and Canada residence only.
Looking forward to read it on my mobile soon… have to reread the Eragon and Eldest to refresh my memory before Brisingr’s release.
As I saw my dashboard this morning, WordPress 2.6 is officially released July 15 to US but July 16 to my location, a month earlier to expected August 2008 release. I instantly decided to update my wordpress 2.5.1 without knowing the added features. I admit, I don’t want to be left behind and updating wordpress version is kinda addicting. LOL. I didn’t even made a back-up.
You can read the WordPress 2.6 features to this link. After uploading the files and database upgrade, of course I looked for changes on my dashboard. Haven’t found any yet but noticed the “turbo” link at the upper right corner of admin panel.
Here’s what I saw after clicking the turbo link:
Wordpress now has support for Gears which adds new features to web browser. hmnn… sounds a major change so I installed and enabled Gears. Then I clicked it once again to see what will happen next.
I had an error, it says:
“Local Storage Status: Error: Download of ‘http://www.ebooktechie.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/themes/advanced/skins/default/img/menu-arrow.gif returned response code 404“.
I checked on my web host and saw that I haven’t upload such folder. So I upload it and reclick “turbo”. Now it says:
“Local storage status: Updated completed.”
So, I guess, there are no more problems. I’m impressed. Looking forward for future wordpress upgrades, I told you, this is addicting. LOL
I have a house guest yesterday and I missed entrecard dropping. I thought, its a wise idea to share what I do to reciprocate efficiently and never miss a site to reciprocate. As we all know we are allowed to 300 drops daily on each blog and I have two blogs.
I start dropping to my co-recipro droppers first. Switch to my other blog and drop to co-recipro droppers again. I do drop on my linked blog, the drop serves as my starting point. Then, dropped to my top 25 droppers and begin reciprocating from the miss day. Sites I haven’t drop were temporarily added to my favorites.
Guess what? I found more sites not included to my top droppers but have 20 and more drops on my site. I thought, they are loyal droppers, so I might as well leave them permanently on my favorites, as long as I have 20 drops from them for the past 30 days.
So, what will I do to my favorites? They will received regular drops from now on, I hope they will also reciprocate. In the future, if I received the perfect drop like my top droppers, they deserve to be added to my technorati favorites and might as well subscribe to their feeds. Linking to their blog to thank them is another thing.
As of now, I have 32 favorites and didn’t include my co-recipro droppers (no need to add my daily drops, this is another list). I don’t know if there are more since I start editing my favorites now. Want to be added? Continue dropping…
An icon is a small image or pictogram. Icons have been used to supplement the normal alphanumerics of the computer. A computer icon usually ranges from 16 by 16 pixels up to 128 by 128 pixels. It has *.ico extension name and represents may represents a file, a folder or application.
On cell phones, the images you see in our menu are icons. We also use icons on favicons.
Having a hard time searching for ebook icons? I tried searching for ebook icons and landed on unavailable links or “dead end”. On java ebook conversion, we can customized the ebook icon but we have to use png file format. Using the default, the icon would looked like this.
I may be not a guru on image conversion for now but I’ll be searching for “theme icon” on mobile forums if I’ll be using it on mobile ebook. I still have some eBook icons in ico format. From now on, I will start collecting ebook icon. Personally, if I’m going to publish an eBook, it would be better if I have my own icon.
Aside from eBooks, there was a time that I’m addicted to comic books which I could say that it was an influence. No regrets, I enjoyed reading comic books especially when the movie versions was released. Its not weird comparing the movie and comic book or book, its natural. I loved the feeling of observing the changes and flaws of movie adaptation for the sake of cinematic effect.
I wouldn’t enjoyed the top 10 comic books that became movies if they’re not top grossers. Here’s HBO’s top 10:
Spiderman 1 and 2 – Starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and Kirsten Dunst as Maryjane
Superman (1978) – Starring Christopher Reeves as Superman and Margot Kidder as Lois Lane.
Batman Returns ( 1992) – Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and Danny De Vito as Penguin.
X Men 1 (2000) – Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Famke Janssen
The Hulk (2008) – Edward Norton and Liv Tyler
The Incredible
Catwoman – Starring Halle Berry, I love Michelle Pfeiffer more for this role.
The Mask – Jim Carrey as Stanley Ipkiss
