Free eBook Result On TrafficJam

A comment called my attention about the traffic I received when my article Free eBook made it #1 to TrafficJam last March 4. For the record, my blogrush widget is ten days old at that time.

blogrush result

The image above shows the times “free ebook” was syndicated, its a good number already for a new blogger and 10 days old widget. Hmnn… I thought, how many times should it be syndicated to make the readers click on it on others’ widget. By the way, the figures at the syndicated column is the times the article had shown to other widgets.

Too bad that I forgot to place the google analytics code on this blog when I moved to a new webhost. Well, lesson learned already, don’t condemned me for this. lol.

March 4, the article is on #1 and  #16 last March 5. Based on my dashboard, I had incoming traffic of 126 (March 4) and 47 referrals the next day from TrafficJam. I’m not impressed with the figures, I’m expecting more than that. Other bloggers who made it on top 25 of TrafficJam received more than I did. On the other hand, new blogs need exposure and I did it somehow. I have some conclusion on my mind on how I made it happen, I will try it again…

Technorati Favorites Vanished!

The only reason that hold me to move on my own domain is my technorati. It wasn’t much that time but with the authority of 59 and 16 fans, it was something for 3 months blogging. Although I didn’t actually know at that time how to improve my rank, it was hard to decide. Better move on my own domain early than be sorry when time comes. I should have started with my own domain and host in the first place.

Anyway, when I moved to my new domain, I’ve added it to my account without deleting the old one. Why? I want to monitor if there’s additional authorities and fans.

I used to have over a hundred of technorati favorites, when I check them last night, all of my old favorites were vanished. Now, I can’t get back on my old favorites’ sites. I really don’t know if it was me, technorati’s glitch or because of my old blog still on my account.  I checked on my old fans (old blog) and saw their favorites, there are some that also lost their old favorites. Better check yours now.

Glitch On Comments

If you’re a regular of this blog, I dunno if you noticed that the akismet widget is showing on my site again. This is to monitor my spam even if I’m not login. When this blog is in wordpress.com, I usually received a minimum of 100 spam daily. Of course, it did gave me a terrible headache when I moved to a new domain and host. They’ve followed me here but akismet still working great to handle them.

I’ll be making a comment policy soon on this blog, this post will serve the same purpose for the meantime. The blog Mobile eBooks is using a dofollow plugin, however I’ve placed a rel=”nofollow” code to articles with excessive links to avoid Big G of branding my blog as a link farm. Other articles remain as dofollow.

My blog tackles anything I came up with blogging, mobile ebooks, mobile application, ebook conversion, computer software (related to ebook) and other mobile techie stuff. All comments are moderated from the start.

I’ve installed top commentator widget last week and resets on monthly basis. I still have flaws on my template customization and its not possible that the number of comments will be shown as of the moment. Top commentators, of course are dofollow and will help my commentators increase their ranking and technorati authority plus their exposure on this blog.

I’ve also installed the commentluv plugin which I love very much on the blogs I visit frequently. However, it will not follow until you’ve reach a certain number of comments here, but the link of your latest entry is still there if you provide your web/blog url. Please be warned that on this blog, I’m looking for quality comments related to the article that will help each other accordingly. Provided that you post a quality comment but I dislike your recent entry, I will delete the link and the comment remains. What are these links? To make it clear, links from adult site, gambling or hate related site will be deleted. If you wish to tell me something, feel free to email me at ebooktechie@gmail.com.

Tagging is allowed on this blog provided that the meme is related to my blog’s contents, otherwise I’ll be making the tag on my personal blog. I also allow out of topic comments but avoid making it look like “spam”. I love comments and I hope i made myself clear. Should you have any “violent reactions” regarding the issue, let me know.

I’m In To Juliana’s Contest

Contests… contest… contest! Too many contests I’ve read when I card dropping my entrecard. Well, I’ve read before from my favorite blogger that joining contest is “healthy blogging”. There’s no win or lose, its always win, win and win! Why? New bloggers needs exposure to blogosphere, win or lose, they will have exposure in a way. And that really matters.

Juliana will be celebrating her 1st year of blogging on July 19, 2008. This is her first time to run a contest to celebrate her anniversary and this is my first time to join. Its a good way to celebrate! I hope the experience will be fun even if I have butterflies on my tummy. hehe..

Here’s her article:

Win Cash In July!

I am very delighted to let you all know, that I’m running my first ever contest on my three blogs: My World, My Library and Juliana’s Lair. I will be celebrating my first anniversary in the world of blogging this coming July 19, 2008. I can’t believe it will be a year soon, and I have enjoyed this experience immensely.

As my way of thanking my readers, my blogger friends and my constant visitors, I’ll be giving away cash prizes to contest participants with the highest accumulated points across all my three blogs.

1st place – $100.00
2nd place – $ 55.00
3rd place – $ 40.00
4th place – $ 30.00
5th place – $ 25.00

The contest starts March 2 and ends on July 19, 2008. Contest winners will be announced on July 23, 2008.

Here’s how to earn points:

1. Comment on my blog posts.
- Every comment is equivalent to 1 point. You can only leave a maximum of two(2) comments per post and the comments should be relevant to the post.
- Comments on my posts starting from entries written starting February 24 ,2008 counts. Only comments written starting today, March 2, 2008 are valid.

2. Copy and paste then publish this entry about the contest on your blog.
- You earn 30 points.
- Please inform me of the link so I can validate and add the points you earned.

3. Mention this contest on your blog by linking to this post.
- You earn 20 points.
- Again, please leave me a comment notifying me about this so I can credit your points.

4. To add an element of fun, since many of my readers have been asking about how old me and hubby are, let’s play a guessing game.
- If you join the fun, and make a guess you’ll earn 10 points.
- The right guess/guesses will earn 30 points (if both ages are correct)
Only one right guess will earn 15 points.
- Again, leave me a comment so I can credit your points.
(Hint: the pictures you see on my three blogs are all current except the wedding pictures, which were taken when we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary three years ago.)

The running accumulated points across the three blogs, will be posted on the side bars of the three blogs to keep you updated on your points earned.

Should there be a tie in any of the prizes at stake, a drawing will be held to determine the winner of that prize, and the person/s not drawn will win the next prize.

Prizes will be remitted to the Paypal accounts of the winners.

Easy enough, right? I hope you’ll all join the fun.
