Let me share the phrase I’ve taken from about page of TrafficJam. It sounds promising to new bloggers like me who doesn’t have enough exposure. Blogging is a never ending learning process for me, pardon me if I always consider myself as newbie.
TrafficJam.com was designed to give exposure to great blog posts regardless of the size (or current traffic level) of the blog. Some of the best blogs in the world are currently undiscovered and don’t have large advertising budgets to drive traffic — so many of them will never be found.
I installed again my blogrush widget last month, February 22 to be exact and hoping for a better traffic with TrafficJam. It was beyond my wildest imagination that my article Free eBook would hit the first rank at TrafficJam, see the image above. Actually, my blogrush widget is alive for 10 days only. I really got excited when itot54joni informed me about it. Since we are ahead of time GMT +8, I believed it is recently updated.
I guess, I’ll be making a follow up entry to the “traffic” I will receive from TrafficJam. I have also an idea in my case on how I made it happen in 10 days! Having my article on the #1 slot is really something.
Update (Nov. 13, 2008): I removed the links, Blogrush and TrafficJam was closed.
Who doesn’t want freebies? Free marketing ebook… squidoo ebook… blog marketing strategies ebook… how to blog ebook… money making ebook… seo ebook… niche ebook, etc… these are some of the freebies I saw. It is indeed attracting and sounds interesting to people like me who really loves ebook.
When I started and got hooked with ebooks four years ago, it didn’t came to my mind that someday, ebooks would be part of blog marketing strategy to have the readers sign up for email subscriptions. My favorite blogger is doing this and he made the ebook himself taking some of the contents from his blog. And that made him different from the rest. Actually, as of this time, its not yet finish and I still didn’t know the title. I’m sure it worth the wait, although I’ve read all of his entries and I am his blog’s email subscriber, I don’t want to miss anything he added on his ebook. I guess, I’ll be converting that to mobile ebook for my private reading.
Free ebook! Free ebook download! As I blog hopping with entrecard, some entrecard members are already doing this to market their blog. What’s the usual deal in exchange of the free ebook? They have to sign up for email subscription. hmmn… Are they the author of the ebook? What are the contents? In what ebook format? Some are confident that indicating the word “FREE” is enough to increase their subscribers. I thought, why didn’t they make any “teaser” or article regarding their free ebook giveaway. Its just a thought but without these information, I will not subscribe.
On the contrary, there are some “blogs” offering free ebook downloads. I am really impressed and almost want to share my mobile ebook collection. But the thing is, I want to maintain my blog, Mobile eBooks Etc, as much as possible and don’t want to post “copyright” materials. The only thing I can do is share the free ebook homepage links. Let me know…
Please be warned that there are some sites also offering free ebook. I’ve tried it before when I was still into moblog. It was a two page lengthy pdf file and unfinished! You have to buy the ebook online to finish reading. Whew!
Why some people want to convert LIT files to repligo?Mostly, the new generation of bookworms don’t have or limited access to computers, some are always “on the go” and don’t want to carry many things like me… some don’t have a pocket PC or PDA that’s always been handy. These are just some of the numerous reasons why some would rather convert a LIT file to repligo. Anyway, I’ve mentioned here that LIT eBook format is 2nd to most common file to PDF.
How to convert LIT eBook to Repligo format?RGO or repligo format when used to a symbian 60 or S60 is one of the best format for me and there are already many mobile ebook readers prefer to use repligo reader.
Although its possible to copy the text when using Microsoft Reader and paste it to notepad, I don’t recommend it because it consume lots of time in editing. We’ll be needing a LIT converter software, any software will do or you can use ABC Amber LIT Converter to convert the file to any format you like.
We have to take consideration the format available for repligo conversion using Replig0 Windows such as doc (ms word), word perfect, excel, powerpoint, html, pdf among others. The candidate format for ABC Amber LIT therefore are doc (ms word), html and pdf format. If that’s the case, we can convert the LIT file to either doc (ms word), html or pdf format.
To make it clearer, here’s the guide:
Using ABC Amber LIT Converter, convert your LIT file to doc (ms word) or html or pdf format, then save.
Open the converted file to its new format. I assume that you have Repligo for Nokia Series 60 converter installed on your computer.
DOC (MS Word) – use the special integrated repligo toolbar button to start the conversion from within the Office application.
HTML – click the repligo button on your IE toolbar, then click “convert web page to repligo”
PDF – choose file, then print, select repligo as your printer.
Note: You’ll be needing Repligo Windows or Repligo for Symbian 60 readers to check if you have successful conversion, they are absolutely FREEwares. On the contrary, Repligo for Nokia Series 60 2.0 converter is NOT free.
The new generation of bookworms’ primary problem is ebook conversion especially if they’re going to read the ebook not on their computer but on handheld device such as mobile phones. Chosen format varies on the electronic device they will be using and of course the mobile ebook application or ebook reader. Its impossible to read LIT eBooks on mobile phones as I’ve mentioned from my previous post here. LIT format eBooks can be read by Microsoft Reader.
How to convert LIT files? There are many free conversion software in the internet. It just so happen that I’ve been using ABC Amber LIT Converter v 2.05. Actually, I’ve used the older version.
Would you lit a book? Nah! I’m just in a playful mood to make the title sounds unusual. Even if I consider myself as an eBook addict, I still do read paperbacks and I still keep my collection. Btw, the image at the right is courtesy of ala.org. Moving to a self hosted blog is not that easy, it took time to figure things out… plugins, settings, template customization etc. Actually, I’m not yet done. Anyway, I’ve been browsing my archives and realized that I still have several articles left unpost. Let me start with eBook formats.
