You Drop, I Follow Experiment

My personal blog and this blog is practicing the “You Drop, I Follow” rule for entrecard dropping. As I’ve blog hopping last night, I’ve seen many blogs practicing the same rule. Dropping entrecard is not that easy, it takes time. Using Firefox made it easier than using IE7. Anyway, based on my observation, I’ve dropped 100 cards and did received a return drop of 15% or almost 15 drops to this blog. Its not worth it since I’m recently doing it here (this blog). Actually, my personal blog is receiving more return drops since I’ve started practicing it.

How to know them? They have the ”You Drop, I Follow” button below their entrecard widget. Although I don’t have that button, I’ve named my widget as “You Drop, I Follow”.

I’ll be posting the list of blogs using the same rule soon. I browse Pinoy EC list, and found out that there are not more than 5 including this blog and my personal blog are using the rule from over 150+ Filipino Entrecard users. I guess, filipino are still not aware or maybe they are busy preparing for the Valentine’s Day. hehehe…

Phishing eMail?

I’ve received a reply from Paypal after I’ve reported a phishing email I’ve received this morning. The reply is as follows:

Thanks for taking an active role by reporting suspicious-looking  emails. The email you forwarded to us is a phishing email, and our security team is working to disable it.

What is a phishing email? Phishing emails attempt to steal your identity and will often ask you  to reveal your password or other personal or financial information. PayPal will never ask for your password over the phone or in an email and will always address you by your first and last name.

phish.jpgI’ve tried the phishing challenge below, try to answer (true or false) and see if you can spot pishing.

  1. Phishing is a form of fraud designed specifically to steal your identity.
  2. You can be sure that an email is valid based on the sender’s email address.
  3. We may occasionally ask you for your full name and password in a PayPal email.
  4. A PayPal email will never contain attachments or software.
  5. Clicking on a link in an email is the most reliable way to get to your PayPal account.

Actually, I’ve almost believe that email except for the email add. Beware: PayPal.com Customer Service” service@##.##.##.###.  If you received a possible phishing email, forward the entire email to spoof@paypal.com.

eCommerce Shopping

To entrepreneurs planning to put up online business, its best that they have the knowledge needed regarding eCommerce. From a traditional entrepreneur’s point of view, traffic to their site is almost the same as advertising or promoting their products. If they have the necessary knowledge on how to boost their traffic, that means better online sales.

If there are traditional merchants, there are also traditional shoppers or consumers that are simply confident talking to customers service. These people wanted to learn the basics of eCommerce as consumers but most of the time websites aren’t optimized or should I say lacked information on procedure on online shopping.

A great strategy to boost more sales is to have several pages specially designed for consumers who are new to the internet using the basic words like shopping cart more understandable by many people in general. Always thinking from the point of view of these consumers can actually drive traffic to your site  and success of the specific advertising. It is recommended to create several numbers of pages with same content and coding but different in url. Consumers tend to search the internet using different keywords, if a good number of articles is on the internet, all linking to your site, that will drive the consumers to your website.

Online business is not that complicated if you never stop yourself from learning eCommerce and always on the shoes of a new consumer in the internet world of shopping carts.

Did you noticed the project wonderful widget at the left side of my sidebar? I’ve signed up last week. I first seen them at Entrecard admin panel. That time, there are 6 slots and 4 slots are still available and it was free for $0.00. What? Free advertising? At Entrecard admin panel? That’s cool!
