December is the busiest month in the Philippines. Communicating with our loved ones during Christmas season is common since almost all Filipinos had mobile phones. Many Filipinos were using the UNLITXT service because it was easy on the budget. The service was available for prepaid subscribers and avail it for as low as php20 a day, php40 for 2 days and php80 for 5 days.
As far as I remember, it was used to be php15 a day, php25 for 2 days and 50 for 5 days last year. The said telecoms had increased their rate without notice to prepaid subscribers last year. Many subscribers complained to National Telecommunication Commission for the said telecoms actions, changing their rates without notice to subscribers. Many had petitioned to rollback their rates. So bad that whatever petition we made, nothing happened. They’ve even released TV and print advertisement to announced that UNLIMITXT (the old name service) announcing that UNLITXT service will remain for life? for good.
What happened now to their promise? Nothing happened to the petition because all along we thought the service will remain for good. The Globe Telecoms is a big fish in the telecommunication business, they can do whatever they want, whenever they want. Did they forgot the word “consideration”… considering it is Christmas season.
I was on my way to Christmas party of my clanmates last Saturday (my mobile co-bloggers) and tried registering for the service. And I’ve received this:
Sorry the UNLITXT ALL DAY txt promo ended. Try SULITXT 15! P15 for 100 Globe-to-Globe txts. Txt SULITXT 15 to 2868. DTI #3634’07.TilJan31. Valid for 1 day. Also for P15 enjoy Unlitxt Day txting bet. 8am-4:59PM for P15 by texting UNLITXTD15 to 2870.DTI#4899’07.Til Jan14. Both services require MinP1balance to register. Sulitxt 15 open to pre-paid subscribers only while Unlitxt Day is open to both pre and post-paid subs.
My clanmates were thinking of buying another competitor’s prepaid sim. We’re not happy with them anymore. The said company had a very good timing of doing this.
UPDATE 12.20.07: Globe Telecoms brought back UNLITXT20. The promo is until January 20 next year. My friend ito54joni confirmed this to me.
This was the common question I’ve received last 2005 from my mobile blog, the chronological order of The Chronicles Of Narnia, book series by CS Lewis. It was the year the first movie, “The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe” was about to shown, most bloggers wanted to read the series first. If we are going to follow the year it was published, the order should be like this:
The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (1950)
Prince Caspian (1951)
The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader (1952)
The Silver Chair (1953)
The Horse And His Boy (1954)
The Magician’s Nephew (1955)
The Last Battle (1956)
The readers got confused when they’ve got to know the other reading order of the series. I’ve read that too making the “Magician’s Nephew” as the first book and rearanging the reading order. They’ve asked me which one did I follow. I followed the publishing order listed above. I believed the movie series will follow that too.
After the success of the movie “The Lion , The Witch And The Wardrobe” in 2005, the movie sequel Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be shown on May 18, 2008.
Last month, my co-mobile bloggers was asking me if my file host was still active since they are having a hard time downloading files on their mobile phones. I’ve checked it out and still works fine, haven’t noticed any advisory from the login page. I had my account there for 1 year and 2 months, I always made weekly downloads to avoid my account to be cancelled. It wasn’t easy doing such for that period of time. I think that was 2 weeks in a row that I can’t access my files so I went to the main page to login. The page redirect me to fsphost blog.
Fsphost offered free file host service for our files we want to share to our colleagues. I’m sad for its closure last Oct. 30, 2007:
In the past couple months the advertisements could not cover the server costs so we decided to make this step to close fsphost.com. Another reason is the lack of time as this is more a freetime project not our main job .. You will have noticed we are announcing fsphost.com v2 now for over one complete year but it is still not finished.
The FSPHost team is thanking you for using this free service.
No matter how sad I am for losing my files I have my back-up on CD anyway. I want to thank you for great service you offered. You made sharing files easy for us.
When we’re on the lookout for a new cellphone, we have certain requirements before deciding which brand and model we buy. And that requirements depends on our needs, lifestyle, hobbies, etc. Before going to cellphone shop, it is better that we take a look first the specification of mobile phones on the web before going to see the actial phone units. These are the things I consider:
Internal or cellphone memory size – the flash memory or the internal memory divided into two parts. The operating system and the user data. The larger the flash memory size, the better. I love browsing the web using Opera, I need large RAM in doing so.
Multimedia Card or MMC capacity – this is the extended memory of the phone. Some mobile phones doesn’t have or require MMC for many reasons.
Built-in camera megapixel – usually, older mobile models have lower camera megapixel. I seldom use the built-in camera but when I use it I want quality pictures since I don’t usually bring my digicam.
Built-in application – most of the sites I browsed doesn’t include the details of the built-in application installed on the unit. I asked for brochures or flyers in the cellphone shops to know these things. (eg. radio, MP3 player)
OS or Operating System – this is the most important thing you shouldn’t miss!
