Globe Telecoms has launched a new service which allows Globe postpaid and prepaid subscribers to upload pictures and videos to Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Blogger, Picasa and G-Blogs using their mobile phones.
Just like Unlichat introductory offer, the service is free until further notice. There are two ways to register, go to Globe Pixlink website or text the word PIXLINK to 2988. Then you can download the application. It was launched in Thursday and still in beta, I haven’t received my mobile application yet. I wonder when can I test it.
The service is possible because of the partnership between Globe Telecoms and US-based mobile software service PixSense. Seeing the quality of pictures shown on their website made me excited to try the service. I guess, its an easier and another way to backup pix and vids stored in our phone temporarily.
UPDATE: I’ve tested it already Sunday morning of March 1. Its not a free trial, the connection fee is free while you register via wap. After registration, when you open the mobile application, you have to choose to subscription option. Php 30/day, Php 60/2days and Php 120/5days to use the service.
I was busy and excited this morning for finding the template for GlitchLine, my personal blog. I haven’t login here until I finished uploading the template. And I found out that Google Pagerank was updated. Too bad that I have a PR0 now. I haven’t done any violation or whatsoever, its just that I haven’t updated this blog when I encountered trojan issues for a month last December. I admit that I haven’t concentrated on my niche and blogging for a while when my computer was A-Ok… I became busy on techie stuff on wordpress, template and lots of updates.
However, I wonder if I was slapped by Big G by posting the article Click A Google Ad?. What do you think? If so, I don’t think its fair because I’m not encouraging clicks on my Google ads. Did you know that a blogger unsubscribed on my feeds because of this article? I changed my feeds settings to “show all” now, better not use “summary” or somebody might misunderstood the articles. Lesson learned again.
Some of the new generation of bookworms prefer repligo formats than other mobile ebook readers in the market including me. Based on my observation, I believed that a bigger percentage of mobile eBook users prefer other formats. Luckily, they found sites and forums that offer free ebooks in repligo or rgo format. I guess, repligo users have wide collections of ebooks. Will the other ebook users allow the opportunity of having the “hard to find” ebook in the market scape?
The disadvantage of using repligo application in mobile phones is that it isn’t available to wide variety of phones. This is one of the reason why I haven’t change my smartphone. Going back, there’s NO software available in the market to convert repligo format to other formats.
The best thing to do is to download and install Repligo Viewer for Windows. Cerience doesn’t offer anymore the software to their download page but the link I have is still downloadable. Take note that it is version 2.1 and latest update is year 2004. Download the file and install to your computer. It is free and should work with Windows XP. It is advisable to have a backup copy to CD for future installation.
Open the repligo file using Repligo viewer
Select all
Copy (as long as your eBook is text)
Paste it to notepad
Edit the file if necessary to tidy up the file
Save it as txt format (you can save it also to other format like MS Word, RTF etc)
Optional: If the repligo file have image, save the image as regular image file. This is depends on your desired output ebook format like mobipocket, PDF etc.
You read it right, Adsense For Domains is now available in the Philippines. You should see the link when you login on your Adsense account. I got intrigued and read the terms and conditions.
This is good news to publishers who have unused domains, another way of earning from Google Adsense. I wonder if what is the best way to monetize your unused domains… to sell them or list them on the program?
I don’t have unused domains. The program was offered to US publishers in December last year and now its open for international publishers. To those who signed up, you can comment here if applying for the program is worth it.
Being an entrecard member somehow have some disadvantages. I don’t want to enumerate these things but I want to point out something about Google Adsense.
To those who didn’t use Entrecard, Entrecard have a feature called Messagebox wherein we can send private message to any entrecard member. I’ve been a long time member of Entrecard, its normal to received messages especially if someone asks you to be a contest sponsor, if you’re holding a contest, a thank you note for advert, things like that. Its unusual for me to received messages that they’ve clicked on my ads and they hope that I will do the same to their blog.
The first time I received almost the same message, I ignored it and never drop by to that site. Normally, if I received a “normal” message from Entrecard, I usually reciprocate. I wonder if these guys read the Google Adsense’ Terms and Conditions which states in #5 that:
You shall not, and shall not authorize or encourage any third party to: (i) directly or indirectly generate queries, Referral Events, or impressions of or clicks on any Ad, Link, Search Result, or Referral Button (including without limitation by clicking on “play” for any video Ad) through any automated, deceptive, fraudulent or other invalid means, including but not limited to through repeated manual clicks, the use of robots or other automated query tools and/or computer generated search requests, and/or the unauthorized use of other search engine optimization services and/or software.
Therefore it is strictly prohibited. Here’s another link for clearer information. Did you know that it took me over a year to received my first $100 from Google Adsense? For the record, I seldom used leaderboard and skyscrapper google ad. I don’t even have Adsense income during a month of absence with trojan on my blogs because they were not updated. Just a friendly advise, drive traffic to your frequently updated site and the rest will follow. My silence in this issue doesn’t means “yes“.
Although I didn’t report any of these messages to Entrecard, there is an abuse in the messaging system.
