Angels And Demons, The Movie

Angels And DemonsAfter Da Vinci Code, Robert Langdon is back. This time to Angels And Demons starring Tom Hanks as Landon. Da Vinci Code was almost banned in the Philippines because the church have doubts on the delicate topic about Mary Magdalene and Jesus Christ. Now, I’m talking about religion on my techie blog. Hey, do I need to mention that Angels And Demons is a book by Dan Brown which I read in repligo mobile ebook.

Going back, I watch the news tonight, an interview with Ewan McGregor who played Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca in the movie. He said that there’s nothing to worry about the movie because there was no conspiracy in the storyline. Maybe he said that because of the movie Da Vinci Code impact to Catholics. In the ebook world or in the bookworms, Dan Brown books is indeed a huge success. I read them all in my mobile phone.

I could say that when the church talked about the movie rating (Da Vinci Code), it did helped make it big. People got curious and watched it. To bookworms, this is one of the movie you should not failed to see. I didn’t allowed my kids to see Da Vinci Code, looking forward to Angels And Demons MTRCB rating in the Philippines.

Let me share part of the sypnosis:

Robert Langdon is facing one of the most powerful underground organizations in history, the Illuminati. In the Angels & Demons movie, Langdon must stop the Illuminati from destroying its most hated enemy, the Catholic Church, which they plan to attack at the heart of their most treasured and revered place, Vatican City. Our hero races to Rome to uncover the 400 year old clues and symbols that will help him save the Vatican, all of which happen to be in the ancient Illuminati safe house. The heart stopping thriller will have you in tense mode as the never ending battle between science and religion comes to a climax.

The prequel Angels And Demons to novel Da Vinci Code was first published in 2000. I read it sometime in 2004 already. It became an international bestseller, surpassing The Da Vinci Code in its reviews. The release is scheduled for May, 2009.

Entredroppers Kicked Me Out

I should have posted this the day I came back to blogging after a month of absence with trojan. When I installed entrecard toolbar and login to my ec account, I checked the entredropper list (started by Arnold). I didn’t choose to be problematic on my pc but in a way I felt bad not doing my daily routine which is ec dropping.

Few months ago, if there was an inactive dropper, I usually received a group email asking for a certain blogger why he/she didn’t participated… if he didn’t explained his side, he will be removed from the list. But I didn’t received any email. And I learned that I’m not listed anymore.

In a way, looking at the brighter side… I’m not obliged anymore to drop on the list which some of them are not as active as I did before. I’m stress free now from entrecard dropping but it doesn’t mean that I stopped my entrecard principle, “You Drop, I Follow“. I do follow whoever drops on my ec widget and I find it fair enough, reciprocating to my “actual droppers“.

Since I’m AWOL (absence without leave) for a month, I’m surprised to see that I still have perfect droppers on my site. I’ve stopped linking my top droppers few months ago. I’m in a good mood now to say thank you to my top droppers.

  1. On The Bricks
  2. Mr. Soleh’s Outburst
  3. Lady Coder
  4. 1 Blog And 2 Sides
  5. ImamKhalid
  6. verITableLIFE
  7. Online Games
  8. Fitting On Fiction
  9. My Notes
  10. Make Money On The Internet

Watch out for my good mood again because I’m NOT doing this every end of the month. Cheers!

Why Java eBook On Mobile?

Consider this as a follow up post of Java eBook Conversion, many got interested with the mobile java eBooks. What’s in the Java based eBooks that many got interested?

There are various mobile phones in the technology market nowadays, the problem is what ebook application should be used on every phone. We also have to consider the ebook format we already have on our ebooks, if we want to read again an ebook on other mobile phone. Take it from me, I choose mobile phone depends on my favorite ebook application compatibility.

But sometimes, depends on the availability of the mobile application, phone’s internal memory and memory card among other things, the ebook format I recommend is in java ebook format.

Advantages:

  • Compatible to wide variety of java enabled phone
  • Doesn’t need separate mobile application to read ebooks
  • Easy to install and uninstall
  • Customizable on conversion

Disadvantages:

  • Availability of ebooks for download
  • Alloted time for java ebook conversion

Should you want to add more here, let me know.

A Month Of Absence With Trojan

I’m a part time blogger but when my computer got infected with trojan virus from my son’s USB , all my attention caught up with battling trojan. My fault, I’m not aware that my antivirus settings was not automatically updated. That was mistake #1.

Mistake #2, I don’t have Windows recovery disk. It came to a point that I have to format my computer.

Mistake #3, my drivers were not updated. Viruses are variety of trojans, backdoor , commwarrior, worms and other spywares infected my pc. I’m not sure what virus or worm change my drivers that also caused errors.

Mistake #4, I didn’t setup email account for instant blog posts.

It took me 3 days to backup my files when I’m sure that were no virus already. Installed Windows XP was already damage so I have to clean format my pc. It was unfortunate that when I was in the process of formatting, I noticed something weird. I have UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). Normally, when I turn on UPS, I will wait for a few seconds before I turn on my computer. During formatting and installing softwares, there were times that I have to restart computer. When I turned on UPS, computer started at the same time. I thought, the problem was the software and not the hardware.

I brought my pc to in-house computer technician at the nearest mall. The power supply (inside the computer) was damage and motherboard was also affected. I was using Pentium 4 then, instead of buying the same motherboard, I bought a motherboard compatible for Pentium Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, power supply. I don’t have plan of upgrading the computer that time but for me that was the right thing to do. Next target to buy: video card, dvd writer, 2GB RAM.

Well, learning lessons the hard way again. FYI, the good thing was I still have my handyphone to read emails and look for guides on computer problem I’ve encountered.

I’m happy that I’m finally back! Give me some time to update some posts, approve and answer comments. I’m also thinking of changing my template. Cheers!

Drop Down Menu, Drag And Drop Of WordPress 2.7

I’m done updating this blog to wordpress 2.7. Actually, I’m excited to see my new dashboard after the upgrade. If you haven’t updated your blog, the image below shows how it would look like.

Wordpress 2.7 Dashboard

At first, I’m not impressed because of the default gray color of my dashboard. I’ve changed it by  editing the profile, it is located on the upper right side of your dashboard. But hey, this is a major upgrade, lets not talk about the colors.

I’m impressed with the drop down menu (left side of the image). I love drop down, spacious dashboard. I haven’t explore much of this new wordpress admin panel and haven’t heard that “drag and drop” feature of it. I was supposed to make an entry tonight but I can’t wait to make a quick post. When I was writing this post, when I point my mouse to “widget title” (sorry, don’t know what to call them) and tried to drag (hold left click mouse) and drop (release left click of mouse) it to other location. It was transferred. Wow! Now, I’m really impressed!

But when I card dropping this morning (haven’t plan of upgrading my wordpress at that time), I saw a blog that was used to have the same template as mine and she changed her template because of unusual outcome of her template. I hesitated to upgrade and decided to test upgrade. The template didn’t looked funny so I proceed to upgrade this blog.

Take note that I shifted to simple script from fastastico few months ago. I didn’t use Automatic Upgrade plugin because this is a major upgrade. Now, I’m hoping for plugin updates.
