Let Me Know What You Want To Know
I know, the title is kinda odd for a techie blog. I could use the common phrase “I’m Back” for not updating my blog for over 2 weeks. I never left blogging although I’m not that active also to my other blogs. I cannot call it as blogger’s block, its not laziness but I admit I become unproductive on blogging. I have my reasons…
1st: My kids’ summer vacation were extended for 10 days because there was 1 student infected with A(H1N1) virus in their school. Naturally, priority comes first and I can’t blog.
2nd: I almost lost my interest on this blog when I discovered that my Entrecard image was plagiarized by another blogger in same category. I didn’t received any response from Entrecard but the result was ok after 10 days. BTW, I never stop reciprocating drops on this blog despite lack of updates.
3rd: I lost my “to do list” for this blog. As you can see, I can’t post mobile ebook topics such as ebook conversion without testing the software or application. I have to make another one.
I apologized for being “glitchy” and unproductive but I’m back. Hopefully, my blogging time will be back to normal next week starting Monday. I need a favor from those who landed here searching for a certain topic on mobile ebooks. Please let me know what you want to know by commenting. You could also suggest topics that might be interesting for this blog.
Hmnn. I guess, a need a catchy image or badge so every visitors will be aware that they can request for certain topics. What do you think?
Mobile eBook… PageRank… Copybloggers
I haven’t seen my blog status in #1 rank since I lost my PageRank. I’m always on #3, sometimes on #2. I got excited last night for this progress, I hope I’m on the right path already. In one way or another, I felt the decreased visitors since I received my first PR update for 2009. I’m not ready that time since I have technical issues with my computer for a month and haven’t concentrated updating my blog. I learned my lessons and hoping to regain my PR. I’m still working on it and trying to maintain what I did in the past plus a little experiment.
Some hotshot bloggers might considered my site as a niche blog, I consider this blog as my baby. My first real blog after years of moblogging (mobile blogging)… I personally write, research, tested softwares and application for handling mobile ebooks to have an update for this blog. On the other hand, I’m sad that there are “auto content” blogs that have some of my contents. Yes, they link back (nofollow), my concern is it might prolong my waiting for PR for my contents being copied. And they have PageRank… is that fair?
BTW, my blog is also welcome for test units/review units of handheld devices and ebook reader devices. Please contact me and send me the details.
A Month Of Absence With Trojan
I’m a part time blogger but when my computer got infected with trojan virus from my son’s USB , all my attention caught up with battling trojan. My fault, I’m not aware that my antivirus settings was not automatically updated. That was mistake #1.
Mistake #2, I don’t have Windows recovery disk. It came to a point that I have to format my computer.
Mistake #3, my drivers were not updated. Viruses are variety of trojans, backdoor , commwarrior, worms and other spywares infected my pc. I’m not sure what virus or worm change my drivers that also caused errors.
Mistake #4, I didn’t setup email account for instant blog posts.
It took me 3 days to backup my files when I’m sure that were no virus already. Installed Windows XP was already damage so I have to clean format my pc. It was unfortunate that when I was in the process of formatting, I noticed something weird. I have UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). Normally, when I turn on UPS, I will wait for a few seconds before I turn on my computer. During formatting and installing softwares, there were times that I have to restart computer. When I turned on UPS, computer started at the same time. I thought, the problem was the software and not the hardware.
I brought my pc to in-house computer technician at the nearest mall. The power supply (inside the computer) was damage and motherboard was also affected. I was using Pentium 4 then, instead of buying the same motherboard, I bought a motherboard compatible for Pentium Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, power supply. I don’t have plan of upgrading the computer that time but for me that was the right thing to do. Next target to buy: video card, dvd writer, 2GB RAM.
Well, learning lessons the hard way again. FYI, the good thing was I still have my handyphone to read emails and look for guides on computer problem I’ve encountered.
I’m happy that I’m finally back! Give me some time to update some posts, approve and answer comments. I’m also thinking of changing my template. Cheers!
My Entrecard Favorites, My Top Droppers
How to be included in my entrecard favorites? I checked the profiles of each received card weekly, if I received 20 and above drops, you’re in. But sometimes, I didn’t noticed some blogs not unless they are included in my top droppers. I do removed blogs who didn’t maintain my quota.
What should you get when included in my favorites? I always start dropping to my co-reciprodroppers, (approximately 50 pax), followed by my favorites (around 70 as of now). After that, I will drop to every EC member on my inbox starting from most popular until I reach the drop limit of 300. If I still have time, I save the undropped sites on my bookmark and drop on them after cut-off. Sometimes, I have other things to do and missed dropping to sites on my inbox, my apologies.
Do we really need to be listed to entrecard groups when others are not really reciprocating? I find it unfair to those who religiously visit and drop their card. Sometimes, I’m having second thoughts to drop on them when I still have many unvisited sites. September’s top droppers are as follows. There are 2 co-reciprodroppers, the rest are included in my entrecard favorites. I do received 31 drops from all of them. Check them out.
