Brisingr, Book 3 Inheritance Cycle Soon!

As we are all waiting for the official announcement of Eldest, the movie… Brisingr, Book 3 of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini will be released on September 20, 2008. This is not the last one, there are going to be four books. It is Inheritance Cycle already, not a Inheritance Trilogy.

What to expect on Brisingr?

  • Eragon will meet a God.
  • Eragon encountered a new and rather terrifying enemy in the third book. I think I can tell you that this enemy likes to laugh and not in the good way. – Christopher Paolini

You could order the book online or to your favorite bookstore. Audiobook is available online. While waiting for the release, you could join the Vroengard Academy and have a chance to win Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger books autographed by Christopher Paolini, Vroengard Shirts and mugs, Eragon DVDs and video games every week. Grand prize is trip to Bozeman, Montana to meet Christopher Paolini in person. For US and Canada residence only.

Looking forward to read it on my mobile soon… have to reread the Eragon and Eldest to refresh my memory before Brisingr’s release.

Inheritance Trilogy… Series?

Have you read the first two books of Inheritance Trilogy, Eragon and Eldest? Its not a trilogy anymore, the author Chistopher Paolini decided to expand it and include a fourth full-length novel.

Christopher Paolini will write an additional, fourth novel about his hero Eragon, it was announced last October 30, 2007 by Nancy Hinkel, Publishing Director of Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books. Originally planned as a trilogy, Inheritance will now include four complete novels written by Paolini and be named the Inheritance cycle. Knopf also announced that it will publish Book Three, as yet untitled, in a national laydown in the United States and Canada on September 23, 2008.

I thought all along that I’m waiting for the final book, that the excitement after reading the first two books will come to its end eventually. Duh! Now, I have to wait for the third and fourth book.

“I plotted out the Inheritance series as a trilogy nine years ago, when I was fifteen. At that time, I never imagined I’d write all three books, much less that they would be published” said Paolini. “When I finally delved into Book Three, it soon became obvious that the remainder of the story was far too big to fit in one volume. Having spent so long thinking about the series as a trilogy, it was difficult for me to realize that, in order to be true to my characters and to address all of the plot points and unanswered questions Eragon and Eldest raised, I needed to split the end of the series into two books.” – Christopher Paolini
