Free eBooks Download
Ok, I gave up. Since I cannot post mobile ebooks here for copyright reasons, I guess it won’t harm my blog if I post some of the websites I know for free ebook download. I’m also receiving some email inquiries about ebook links. If you intend to read the ebooks on mobile, don’t forget to browse the ebook conversion because most websites are using ebook format not intended for mobile and as well as the mobile application needed for your mobile ebook reading. Otherwise, just download the necessary ebook reader for your computer.
This post is regularly updated to add more ebook download links and removed dead links. Take note that I will not post direct links of certain ebooks. I’ve categorized the sites based on ebook format.

eBook Or Blook?
Should a blogger need a goal to target on blogging? Everything we do in real life, we always have goal. Without one, we cannot achieve anything or finish the task. Same thing with blogging, aside from earning to maintain the blog, we should have a goal.
I was thinking of compiling my important articles regarding mobile ebook just like some hotshot bloggers are doing, for now that’s my goal. I have to complete first my articles based on my requirements and knowledge. A flowchart of how the ebook should be serves as my guide now to Mobile eBook Etc‘s future articles.
Anyway, I came across with the word “blook“, sounds like out of this world for me. Let me share wikipedia‘s definition, a blook can refer to either an object manufactured to imitate a bound book, an online book published via a blog (book for blog), or a printed book that contains or is based on content from a blog. Actually, its a long been used blogging word, invented sometime in 2002 and recognized in 2006. I saw some blog that contents are stories, a blog post is equal to a chapter.
Going back to hotshot bloggers, they are offering free ebook to their readers in exchange for subscribing to their blog’s feeds. Some of them are posting beside the subscribe button the word free ebook. Should they put the words free ebook or free blook since the ebook they offer are their blogs popular contents? To a non-blogger reader, ebook is self explanatory and well known word than blook. That simple as it is.

Free eBook!
Who doesn’t want freebies? Free marketing ebook… squidoo ebook… blog marketing strategies ebook… how to blog ebook… money making ebook… seo ebook… niche ebook, etc… these are some of the freebies I saw. It is indeed attracting and sounds interesting to people like me who really loves ebook.
When I started and got hooked with ebooks four years ago, it didn’t came to my mind that someday, ebooks would be part of blog marketing strategy to have the readers sign up for email subscriptions. My favorite blogger is doing this and he made the ebook himself taking some of the contents from his blog. And that made him different from the rest. Actually, as of this time, its not yet finish and I still didn’t know the title. I’m sure it worth the wait, although I’ve read all of his entries and I am his blog’s email subscriber, I don’t want to miss anything he added on his ebook. I guess, I’ll be converting that to mobile ebook for my private reading.
Free ebook! Free ebook download! As I blog hopping with entrecard, some entrecard members are already doing this to market their blog. What’s the usual deal in exchange of the free ebook? They have to sign up for email subscription. hmmn… Are they the author of the ebook? What are the contents? In what ebook format? Some are confident that indicating the word “FREE” is enough to increase their subscribers. I thought, why didn’t they make any “teaser” or article regarding their free ebook giveaway. Its just a thought but without these information, I will not subscribe.
On the contrary, there are some “blogs” offering free ebook downloads. I am really impressed and almost want to share my mobile ebook collection. But the thing is, I want to maintain my blog, Mobile eBooks Etc, as much as possible and don’t want to post “copyright” materials. The only thing I can do is share the free ebook homepage links. Let me know…
Please be warned that there are some sites also offering free ebook. I’ve tried it before when I was still into moblog. It was a two page lengthy pdf file and unfinished! You have to buy the ebook online to finish reading. Whew!
Why PDF format Is The Commonly Asked eBook Format
I’ve came across with this article Why PDF Is Not An Ebook Format, the article was written 4 years ago. PDF (Portable Document Format) is the most commonly asked eBook format, in fact there are many websites that offers free PDF ebook downloads.
The article above said, “PDF is one of the reasons ebooks have been so slow to catch on with the majority of the reading public; readers that have tried reading PDF files on screen have concluded that ebooks are hard to read.” I disagree and agree.
I disagree that pdf is slow to catch readers, PDF is still the most requested eBook format primarily because mostly PDF readers and eBooks are free to download. A simple googling search, you’ll find a lot of PDF eBook download sites. If you happen to browse eBook forums, you’ll notice that many are still looking for PDF formats. PDF is electronic transmission format for paper documents, it is the perfect format for printing, if you’re still the conventional reader. I’ve encountered many such bookworms from my old mobile blog, they choosed to have it printed and read it the traditional way.
I agree that its really hard to read PDF on mobile but I still prefer PDF format as my source format for conversion. Converting and making it eye friendly on my mobile is my primary concern.
